Simple Tip To Make Things Happen

SPEAKER_00

Hello, friend. I am going to give you one of my most simple and favorite tips to making things happen. And that is to plan for it, to put it in your calendar, your planner, your agenda, wherever you keep notes of what you're doing for the day, your schedule, your Google Calendar, wherever it is, to plan for the thing that you want to do. So I'll give you a great example. I signed up for this really cool art journaling manifestation 21-day course with this artist who I really respect and I like her work. And she's teaching just this fun thing, these fun exercises to do in your art journal 21 days in a row to help you sort of manifest and set your goals for the year and also to just learn some new art techniques. So it fits so perfectly with me, who is always thinking about goals and making them happen. And also one of my goals for the year is to be more creative and to work and play in my art journal. So this was perfect for me. So I signed up. We got an email last week about how to prepare and like the supplies to get ready and uh how to just sort of start setting aside a time for it and knowing what we're doing and the sort of plan. And then today it started, and nowhere in the past two weeks have I put into my calendar that I'm going to have time or take time, make time for this art journal. So I was just like, I signed up for it on a on a kind of a whim, and I'm like, yeah, that'll be so fun. Oh my gosh. And then I open the emails and I'm like, oh my gosh, this is so fun. Here's how to prep. But I didn't put into my calendar. And so this week is pretty booked up with uh my accountability club is opening, and that's super fun, but that takes a lot of my time and space and energy. I have a lot of one-on-one clients this week. Some of them are new, so that's really fun. I have a dental implant happening this week, and so that's gonna set me back for a little bit and have some time to recover from that. But because I didn't plan for this art journaling class, it's likely not gonna happen, at least for the first four days of this week. And that's totally on me. I totally know that for me to get things done, for me to do what I want to do, I need to actually plan for it and set aside time for it. Because life, life's at us all the time, right? There is always somebody calling or dropping by or asking us to do something or we're getting something in the mail or we're getting an email. We have all of this input that wants our energy and our time and our space to give to it, right? And if we don't ever take control of our lives and how we're spending time by putting it in our planner and then showing up for it, we just kind of get carried on uh along the river, right? Like I imagine, like a really fast-moving lazy river. Is there a term for that? Maybe it's just like rapids that I, you know, I just imagine being carried down it and you're just sort of not in control and you're just being carried wherever life takes you. And that's fine for some people, but I personally like to feel a little bit more in control and in charge of what's happening. And so the only way that has worked for me to actually show up and get things done is to put it into my planner or my calendar. Actually, I put it into both. Um, but so this is just like my number one pretty simple tip put it in your calendar, make time for it, set aside a time, and then showing up for it is a whole nother thing. That can be another episode. But at least give yourself a chance, carve out that time and make make sure that you and your brain know that it's important to you by carving space for it and dedicating a time for it. Okay, love you. Bye.
